Jim Toler, and the Oregon Geer’s Welcomed GFA in glorious GeerCrest Style !!

GFA planned their triennial reunion for July 2016 in beautiful Oregon. The 3 day event started Friday, July 29th and continued through to Sunday, July 31st. It was an outstanding reunion with many representatives from across the U.S. See our Photo Gallery Here, highlighting the many activities and participants.

   

Friday Afternoon and Evening,
July 29

4 to 6 pm Exhibit and pioneer village at the Aurora Colony Museum in Aurora, Oregon;
registration 6:30 to 9 pm Historic Stauffer Farm in Aurora: BBQ Dinner; slide show presentation of ‘Meek’s Cutoff’ by author Brooks Ragen

Saturday,
July 30

9:00 am GeerCrest Farm: Meet and greet; displays and information tables
9:30 am Tour of historic buildings and farm; archival exhibit; Stories of the Geers; information about GeerCrest Farm & Historical Society.
12:00 pm GeerCrest Farm: Picnic lunch; farm tours
1:30 pm Champoeg Park: Exhibits and tour depicting the event leading to Oregon becoming a US Territory; Governor TT Geer impersonation by Mark Hinds.
2:30 pm Self-guided tour of Geer landmarks; tour of wineries; scenic drives.
6:30 pm Salem, Pringle Community Center: Dinner; ‘The Oregon Geers’ video showing.

Sunday,
July 31

9:30 am GeerCrest Farm: Brunch
11:00 am GFA Business meeting and closing
